Bear Necessities Coffee Bar Review

Image
Bear Necessities Coffee Bar Review While looking for a place to finish up my last few assignments of the summer semester, I stumbled across Bear Necessities Coffee Bar. I first noticed the cute bear logo displayed on their front window and was immediately intrigued. I decided to look at the reviews and was pleasantly surprised to find it had almost 5 stars on Google. All of the reviews described the shop as cozy and a great place to relax, read a book, or do some homework, so I knew it would be the right choice for the day.  As I pulled into the parking lot, I was surprised at how few people were there and how many parking spaces were available.I thought to myself, this could mean they aren't getting a great amount of business, but I was too excited about the close spot to worry too much.  It only took a short trek to the door, and once inside relief hit me like a ton of bricks. On a hot summer day like today, the air conditioning followed by the smell of dark roasted co...

Blackdog Coffeehouse Review

Image
Black Dog Coffeehouse           In between school and work seemed like the perfect time to try another coffee house to tell you about! I took a look online and browsed a few different shops in the Overland Park area. Many of the shops looked nice, but Black Dog Coffeehouse piqued my interest immediately. The pictures online seemed to capture exactly what I was looking for, a small shop with a dimly lit calming atmosphere. It seemed like it would be a perfect place to relax, work on homework, and sip coffee. Upon arrival, I found the shop to be next to a bakery and a couple other businesses in a strip. The parking lot was pretty small for the amount of shops in the strip, so I struggled to find a close spot. Luckily, I drive a small car and I was able to fit in one of the more narrow spots. It was a short trek to the doors, but once inside the atmosphere is unmatched to any other shop I have visited. The interior is rustic with brick accents and old...

Revocup Review

Revocup Review      Hello fellow coffee enthusiasts! I visited a coffee shop this week that really piqued my interest; Revocup! This shop was recommended to me by one of my good friends, so I did something I don't usually do. I went in without reading the reviews. I decided to take my friend's word for it and go in blind, and I was not disappointed!           There are multiple locations all over the Kansas City area, however I visited the location in Overland Park on 135th St. When I pulled in, I was pleasantly surprised to find easy parking access. The shop is connected to a few other stores and businesses, which allowed for a large parking lot. I was super lucky to get front row parking as it wasn't too busy around 4:00 p.m. Once inside, the smell of freshly brewed coffee filled the air. I noticed the shop was fairly small with a rustic, retro vibe. This made the shop feel very homey and inviting. I enjoy finding coffee shops that d...

Brew Haha Coffeehouse Review

Brew Haha Coffeehouse Review I have tried yet another coffee shop, my friends! On this trip, I decided to try Brew Haha Coffeehouse. Brew Haha is located on Mastin St in Overland Park, Kansas, making it only a short 10-minute drive from the Johnson County Community College campus. The location is perfect for JCCC students who need a place to study or relax after a long day of classes.  A nice place to study was the reason for my visit on this particular day. Normally, I would try to find a coffee shop with low lighting and a cozy atmosphere, but today, I needed a coffee shop with more natural lighting and an atmosphere conducive to learning. From the pictures online, Brew Haha seemed to fit my criteria perfectly.  The location is in a shopping mall, so there was plenty of parking in the late afternoon. Once inside, the energy of the shop was calm and inviting. I really enjoyed their way of decorating; it had a rustic-modern vibe to it. There were even more plants than s...

Crows Coffee Review

Image
Crows Coffee Crows Coffee is a small, quaint coffee shop with a couple of locations around Kansas City, Missouri. One location is on Redbridge Road, another is nestled in the Plaza on 51st Street, and the last is on Washington Street. I visited the one on Washington Street.     I typically select coffee shops to visit with low lighting and a comfy atmosphere. I also look into the reviews to determine if the shop is worth my time. From the shop's online presence, this seemed to be the perfect spot. The pictures highlighted my preferences while also boasting a homey and warm aesthetic. Additionally, the reviews from other satisfied customers complemented the staff and environment. Parking at this location is off to the right of the building. If you’re going too fast, you might just miss it. The parking spots are also quite small, so if you have a big truck, this may not be the coffee shop for you! It is a small trek from the parking lot to the front doors, but once inside...
