Bear Necessities Coffee Bar Review

 Bear Necessities Coffee Bar Review

While looking for a place to finish up my last few assignments of the summer semester, I stumbled across Bear Necessities Coffee Bar. I first noticed the cute bear logo displayed on their front window and was immediately intrigued. I decided to look at the reviews and was pleasantly surprised to find it had almost 5 stars on Google. All of the reviews described the shop as cozy and a great place to relax, read a book, or do some homework, so I knew it would be the right choice for the day.

As I pulled into the parking lot, I was surprised at how few people were there and how many parking spaces were available.I thought to myself, this could mean they aren't getting a great amount of business, but I was too excited about the close spot to worry too much.

It only took a short trek to the door, and once inside relief hit me like a ton of bricks. On a hot summer day like today, the air conditioning followed by the smell of dark roasted coffee was all I needed. I absolutely loved the vibe of this shop. The lighting  was dim, but the large windows allowed the sun to shine through the windows to create a pleasant ambience. There was also an adorable mural of a bear in the forest with their logo across the back wall. This art piece really tied the rural aesthetic together.

Once I made my way to the counter I was met with a smiling barista and a “Good afternoon! What can I get for you?” I don't do this often but something about this shop was different, so I asked what she would recommend. She said her favorite was the vanilla cold brew, and my mind was made! I must say, I was also very pleasantly surprised by the prices considering their syrups are homemade. I only paid 6 dollars compared to a 8 or 9 dollar drink at Starbucks.

I took my homework and sat on the couch by the window. Once I had my materials out, the same, kind, barista brought my coffee to me. I think it is so sweet when coffee shops do this, especially when you are bringing work or school work to the coffee shop. It shows they truly care for their customers and want to make you feel welcome.

The first sip of the coffee nearly made me melt. The homemade vanilla syrup made for by far one of the best vanilla coffees I've had. It was so smooth and balanced perfectly with the bold coffee flavor. The shop slowly started filling up, so I must have come during one of their lulls.

I sat for an hour or so finishing my work and enjoying the atmosphere of customers chatting and light music playing. I’m so happy that I didn’t let the empty parking lot deter me.  This was a great find and I will definitely be visiting again soon. The service, coffee, and casual vibe were a perfect mix for my afternoon study session.
